Grassfed beef is the pinnacle of healthy eating: an entirely different product from corn- or grain-finished beef. Our herd comprises Black Angus as well as the endangered Red Poll breed, known to produce amazing beef on an all-grass diet. Their smaller size combined with our intensive rotational grazing system allows us to finish our animals in approximately 18 months, yielding tender, flavourful meat.
Folks who have tried our beef for the first time had this to say:
“We brought home the beef and we just could not wait, so we thawed two steaks and ate them with a collection of roasted root veggies. OH MY GOODNESS! Tender and delicious! The selection of meat looks fabulous and we are so thankful to you and Nathan for having cared for these animals and shared them with us.”
One of the things we are most passionate about at Green Being is employing intensive grazing systems to stimulate our pastures to sequester carbon in the soil. This is a powerful tool for fighting climate change.

Once you have had “real” chicken, you cannot go back! Chickens raised on pasture are amazingly succulent and flavourful. They are fed certified organic grains in addition to the forages they graze all day long.
Our same glorious chicken, but pieced and vac-packed separately so you don’t have to cook the whole chicken at once. Breasts, legs, thighs, wings and carcasses are all packed separately.
Please note: To order the 6-piece cut, you must order an even number of chickens as they are bagged in twos.

No deposit required (balance paid on pick-up at the farm).
We partner with Danny Schmidt, another local organic farmer to bring you pastured, organic turkeys! These turkeys are raised outdoors, and moved regularly to fresh pasture where they can continually graze. The result is a juicy and flavourful turkey that will be the best you have ever had. Birds are sold whole, and fresh.
Turkeys are $6.95/lb, and will hopefully average between 14-19 lbs. You are welcome to specify your size preference (in the Order Notes in your shopping cart), but we cannot make any guarantees – it is not as easy to control the weights of a bird on pasture, compared to a factory-farmed bird.
Pickup for Pastured Turkey is from the farm only on Saturday, October 12th, 2024.
A chlorophyll-packed way to get a head start on spring. We produce a bounty of leafy greens (and some other treats too!) in our passive solar greenhouses. This amazing bounty is available weeks and weeks before you see most locally and organically grown greens in stores, and the quality and freshness is unparalleled. A wonderful way to cleanse your body after the winter. Take the greens challenge and your body will thank you!
Start time is usually early April but can be sooner or later depending on the weather. Length is generally 5 weeks, sometimes 6, depending on how quickly things grow. Crops include: salad greens, arugula, baby spinach, baby kale and chard, kohlrabi, radish, carrots (even though they aren't green), mizuna, tatsoi, green garlic, bok choi, numerous varieties of asian greens, head lettuce and rapini.
